95 es 300 code P1705 already changed vss's
 

Ok so here is the deal I have a 1995 es 300 with code P1705 which as far as I can find online should be one of the two vss's attached to the trany, part numbers 5s4771 and 5s4864. Now I have replaced both and reset computer with no luck. The car is coming out of gear and choosing the wrong gear, starting it out in low does help but doesn't stop the problem. It also seems to be worse when the engine is hot. I would love to be able to test the two vss's I have changed, but haven't a clue how.

Also I took it to a local transmission shop and when talking to them they mentioned something about an in dash sensor but I can't find anything on that anywhere.

Last but not least the cruise light occasionally turns on and off by itself, could this be associated?

I'm starting to think wiring but I am praying I'm wrong.......

Any tips suggestions or solutions PLEASE don't hesitate to tell me what I'm doing wrong lol

Sounds to me like you needs new ecu, or refurbished $150.
I just replaced mine when codes were going off and engine running poorly. No power unless in d2 gear no drive , low idle, high gas mileage,and fumes. Just make sure you match the 2 five digit manufacture numbers when you replace it
