CD player won't play
 

Not mine a friends GS 400. The CD loads and everything works but it does not play, no matter what track or CD we go to. We tried cleaning it and that did not help? Weird?

Your friend may have a bad CD changer. Is the car still under warranty( 4 year or 50K)?.

Take the CD cartridge out of your GS (that works) and try it in his. That will at least eliminate part of the CD system as an issue. Plus it removes the 'duh' factor for putting the CDs in upside down or bad CDs.

Make sure to use real store-bought CDs, not burned ones. Some burned CDs have issues in our players.

hey, i have put my cd's in wrong n blew my top thinking my cd player was messed up...kinda funny

Remove the CD cart, and unplug the harness to the changer. It may need resetting, or it may have worked the audio output harness loose. If that doesn't work, check the same harness on the headunit side.
