When you have your car serviced at the dealership, they somehow report it for public record and it shows up on a carfax report. I want to do everything I can to maintain the value of this car so I can sell it, to upgrade in a year or two. If I take my car to a third party certified lexus master mechanic like http://www.lexusalternative.com/ will it report the same way?

Carfax is not the greatest for that sort of thing, sure, it works, but there are a lot of people who don't believe in Carfax much anymore. The best thing you can do is to simply maintain a folder with all the service invoices. I don't know if newer owners manuals have them, but older Lexus owners manuals or their supplements had an area to log all of the services performed

Yea, id agree with above... Especially because many dealers dont participate in the carfax program, so even at a dealer, the services arent being reported. Id just keep detailed records on your own.. you'd be surprised, having something paper in hand is worth more to me than a computer print out.
