Default 60K mile Service

What have you all paid for the 60,000 mile service. What them dealer is quoting me is astronomical!

I paid almost $800 for my 60K service. A local repair shop quoted me about $100 less but I figured that it was worth the extra hundred to get a loaner for the day and to have qualified people working on my car. (I am not a do-it-yourself type of guy)

Edit: I just noticed that you are in Atlanta also. The dealer that I refered to was Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett and the local shop is Automotive Specialists of North Atlanta. Send me a PM if you want more info.

Interesting Note:

I had my manifold pulled for plumbing NOS and there was OIL in the intake manifold! Lexus said that was common and is cleaned during the 60k check-up. So they seem to do a lot.

800.00 from what I have heard is good.

Good Luck

My dealer wanted $1000. I bought the Lexus parts (filter, plugs, etc.) from Carson Toyota and paid my local mechanic $250 to do the work. Most everything is 'inspections', and anything near $1000 is a huge waste of money. Generally Toyota will do the service for you was well for a couple hundred less then Lexus.

Now the 90K service, that is a whole nother matter.

I'm your neighbor. I'm going to Nalley. What I feel about Hennessy is as close to HATE as it gets...

Default 60K Check up $$$

My 98' GS400 is having the same done today at Mission Viejo Lexus. Quoted $825 But if you want to run with the big dogs..you gotta pee in tall trees

Not to mention the additional $110 for new floor mats and another $165 for an A/C filter and power steering fluid flush.

Good news is that it won't be that costly until the 120K check up.

GS4DOUGIE,

I hope the $165 is for the filter change AND the flush. The filter is I think 30 something dollars and can be replaced DIY.

That is pretty tricky of you to leave Club Lexus for a year or so and then come back with a new name. Also you need to change you avatar so that Lexus will be on the top of MB..

I check in quite a bit, I don't post much though. I'm usually learning more than I'm teaching.

Anyway, my car is at Nalley as we speak. They gave me a loaner IS300 and might not go back to pick up my car. The IS drives like a go cart. Very fun. Very fun indeed!

Thats a sweet looking silverado!

I'm tired .. I've been searching posts for the last 2 hours for a specific 60K maintenance post .. oh well .. I think I'm gonna drive down to LA tomorrow and maybe have it done while I'm down there.

Try $1370 for my 90K mile service yesterday. But they also did new water pump with the new timing belt and new brakes in the rear. Unbelievable. That's Mercedes territory for maintenance. But, the car has been damn near flawless so I guess it 's worth it.
