Buy a Lexus Warranty Now?
This specifically applies to those who have the Fuel Valve recall AND HAVE NOT YET PERFORMED THE FIX YET.
As part of the recall, all affected vehicles get a 100K mile powertrain warranty upgrade for free. But if you have an existing Lexus Warranty (or VSA in their language), you will get a free $500 Lexus gift card instead (or perhaps in addition to, unclear).
So if an extended warranty is $1,500... and qualifies you for a $500 gift card that you will know you will use, then the net cost of the warranty is only $1,000. Sweet deal.
