Valve covers different colors???
Hi guys,
I figured now was a good time to tackle the starter replacement on my 1993 LS400 with 110,000 miles. After getting to the elusive starter, I figured that I might as well do the valve cover gaskets because there was some leaking. Well I popped the valve covers off and one side had a darker caramel colored oil coating inside. This is exactly what I expected. However, the other side had a lot less of this oil film baked on.
What could be causing this? I'm inclined to say that one side is experiencing higher heat than the other side, but why would this be? Or could there be another explanation?
Looking forward to hearing some responses from you guys! Stay healthy!
Regards,
Kevin
