Default 1999 RX300 Stalls when idle

New to the board but haven't found specific info related to my problem.

I have a 1999 RX300 that turns over and runs fine when I provide gas when turning key.

As soon as I take my foot off of the gas pedal (i give it constant gas to keep it around 2000 rpms when doing this), it stalls.

It's been doing this for a month. When this problem first showed itself, I would perform my starting ritual and then after about 20-30 seconds of my pedal pushing, i would slowly remove my foot and it would then idle fine, drive fine, like nothing ever happend. Somedays it took more pedal pushing, some days none.

NOW, it won't start, run, or idle AT ALL without my pedal pushing.

Wondering what it can be and hoping for some insights! Thanks

You need a new idle air control valve located under the throttle body. I know somebody did the cleaning and its work, but it's very tight to remove it out. You can do a search on " RX idle air control valve"

Definately sounds like a bad IAC (idle air control or idle speed control) valve.

I had a similar situation with my RX300. It had a low idle and would cut out when I stopped. It ended up being an O2 sensor. Never threw a code. Might want to check that first.

It's definitely an idle air control valve (IAC) which will not usually if ever give you a check engine light.
