Lexus lubrication service - what type of grease?

When I took my 2002 LS430UL in for my 72000km lubrication service, I noticed they used some sort of white grease in the door jambs and the sunroof rails, and a dark grease on the trunk strut ball joints.

This was for the maintenance item "lubricate locks, latches, and hinges".

Does anyone know which other parts were lubricated, which specific products are used, and how these products were applied?

Thanks in advance!

It really is dealer dependent. The white grease used on the door jambs and rails is probably a white lithium or white silicone grease made specifically for hinges. The darker grease used on your trunk struts is likely a heavy bearing grease. They may have applied the same grease to your hood struts as well. Again, this is all at the descretion of the dealer, as they have have lubricated more items, or just what you see. They may also have used a variety of greases.

Hi pal I agree with RTIS250 you can use white silicone grease or white lithium grease for engine parts but I suggest you to use White Lithium Grease its safe to use even on plastic parts, and is designed to function in a wide variety of uses, and if you have more confusion in your mind then you should consult a lubrication dealer.
