The Lexus dealer in my area in northern Ca gets $1589.95 for a LS430, 90K service which includes the Timimg belt change. When I get close to time for mine, I'll find someone else to do it. My- son -in law had his LS 400 done at a local independent shop done for about $600/$700.

It's depending on the area, state or city, but it's sound about right.

Welcome to CL and please turn off the cap lock...

I waited a bit too long as well, I was at 116k.

I paid my local independant shop $565 for a new timing belt, water pump, and new serpentine belt. The timing belt was given to me, didn't look too bad really - though the visual is just one part of it.

They said the cam seals looked great, no leakage.

I put new Iridium plugs in myself.

That was 2 months ago, everything is peachy, and she performed flawlessly on a trip to North Carolina and back.

Still love this car.

Provided parts for 92 SC400 did all seals, t-belt, tensioner, water pump...basically replaced everything behind the cover for $550 at an independent. It took them ALL DAY as well to do the work. I am so glad I didnt attempt to do the work.

Lexus of Greenwich (CT) quoted me $2000 for timing belt, tensioner, water pump, etc. Ridiculous! It's about a 5-6 hour job. My local mechanic did all this and the other belts for a grand total of $851, including tax. It pays to "shop the market." It doesn't look like you got ripped off by what you paid, it's all relative to local economics - fuel per gallon/cigarette prices/$3.00 Coors light vs $4.25 Heineken...(96 ES300)
