Does anyone use K&N air filters?
In my old Accord, a K&N air filter seemed to improve engine sound and performance a bit. I also appreciated the extended period before I had to change them. Do any of you use K&N filters in your Lexus engines?
Thanks

I used one in my 2002 ES for about three years. The mpg improvement was negligible. The only savings was not having to buy a stock filter each year.
The hassle is having to wash, re-oil and make sure you don't over oil the K&N each time. I went back to the simplicity of the Denso filters just to avoid the re-oiling.

With my RX300, a long time ago (6 years ago) in a galaxy far, far away (Mexico City), I used one and also had the issue with the MAF sensor getting coated. Ended up just spraying the side facing the airflow to avoid this issue. I noticed this filter a bit more than I would at sea level. Compared to the stock filter, I felt that using one for the situation I was down there was the right one, but whether you want to use one is a personal decision.
I used it for 2 days...felt no change whatsoever, read up on how to clean the filter, and decided to put OEM back...too much hassle. Now it's just sitting in garage collecting dust
