Default climate control out.

I have a 95 SC 400. The automatic climate control seems to have quit functioning. The fuse in the kick panel, slot two, is in good condition. The panel seems to get backlit but nothing shows up. Pressing the buttons for front or rear defrosting does not light up either. It seems to be some control unit failure or a fuse for a control unit. Can someone please provide more information? If it is a control unit that is out any suggestions for a place to get a refurb would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I saw a control unit for sale on EBay a month ago- the rear backlighting bulb has burned out, but it otherwise was functional. Since then I had heard of other cars with the same problem, so your best bet, if you like hunting, is to find someone that replaced the unit and kept the old one. The bulb IS replacable, but must be replaced with a soldering iron.

hey jlanders, I just had same problem yesterday, I was playing with BLUE LED that I got for speed meter into cig light socket(another story..) and I noticed that heater display wasn't working.
I checked the fuses, two fuses, No.4(10A) and No.7(15A).
No.7 fuse was gone. I replaced it and it's fine now.

Did you check those fuses yet? if not, I bet one of those fuses is gone.

Unhappy Climate Control

Hey Jlanders,
Did you ever get the climate control replaced? I have 92sc300 with the same problem. I checked both fuses and they're fine. I really want to avoid the dealer if I can. Lexuspros.com sells a replacement unit for $440. Has anyone had similiar Climate Control problems?

Check ALL the fuses to be sure. Sometimes the factory serv.manual doesn't even list all related fuses
