Do you follow the 3 month/3k mile oil change?
 

Last time I had an oil change was July 06 and I was told to take my car over to midas so they can flush my oil and get an oil change. I was just wondering if 3 month or 3,000 miles is when you should change oils with these cars? Especially if they are older? I was thinking either 1 year/8,000 miles for an Oil change, but I guess i was wrong??

Like RaynArt said, definitely 3,000 miles.
Usually for me thats before 3 months, using the car as a daily driver,
over 300 miles a week.

What kind of oil do you guys use?
I'm using Mobile 1 Synthetic.

I try to keep to 3k miles as best I can. Don't really care time-wise, as I've usually driven 3k in 3 months.

I don't daily my SC so 3 mths comes quicker than 3K. Mobil 1 Synthetic FTW.

i thought the point of synthetic was to extend the 3k miles? to atleast 5?

Pennzoil full syn here, every 5000kms (about 3 months).

I change it every 10000 km or 1 year ... :-)

Why would you change it every 3K when Lexus specifies 5k or 7.5K? Waste of money, IMO.

I got mine done at the dealer when I bought the car. They made the window decal for 5k miles after when I brought it in. I just took in back the other day a few miles early. Regardless, if they suggest 5k miles, I figured that is what I would do.
