Axxis Ultimate vs Hawk HPS Street brake pads
Which is the king of braking performance, low dust, and minimal noise?
Hawk HPS Street $70
Axxis Ultimate $67, $73.50, $55
*not including shipping
*no clue about how reliable these e-tailers are (except for Tire Rack)
For the Axxis pads, some listings mention "Rotora"- I'm guessing that is just the distributor for the North American market?

There are LOTS:
Brembo
JBT
Endless
Rotora
GReddy (GREX)
Wilwood
Rotex
AEM
Stillen
K Sport
Power Slot
Baer
I think they all kinda have the same thing. Some are slotted, drilled, or both.

EBC create tuns of dust, and I don't know if the performance is all that great - never again for me.
I hear a lot of good things about hawk pads though, give them a shot.

Funny, EBC knows certain pads of theirs creates lots of dust (contrary to their marketing), and they've claimed to changed their formula from batch to batch to address this problem. I've had about 3 different EBC pads on my car (all the Green type with the same part number) and they've dusted differently. The dustier ones stopped better on my car.

Funny. I have experience w/ BOTH of these exact pads.
Here is my thread about both pads.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ighlight=brake
In summary, stick w/ the Hawk HPS.
The Hawk pads dust far far less. And the pads don't seem to experience fade as easily as the Axxis Ultimates.
The Hawk pads may be a few bucks more, but they are worth it IMO. I am one happy customer!

axis and EBC claim their pads are low dusting... and they are... the pads themselves don't dust much... it's actually eating your rotors and your dust is actually very fine metallic shavings... i noticed this big time with my corolla GTS and axxis/PBR ULX ceramic pads... which they claimed did not dust...
i've run hawk HPS in my corolla GTS and they were okay, but nothign to hoo har about... the ULX ceramic stopped 10x better... in my opinion, hawk and OEM are near the same level... and don't even bother with HP+.. they squeal like a ****...
