Default Removal of Rotors LS 400 1992

I have been trying to remove and replace my brake rotors. I followed the tutorial on http://www.lexls.com/ - an excellent site

I managed to remove the calipers and even the 2 screws that hold the the rotors. However, the rotors seem to be stuck. Should I use brute force and whack it with a hammer?

There should be two holes in the rotor which have threads in them. Insert two bolts (I believe the size is 10mm) into these holes and start tightening the bolts. Alternate tightening between the two. Unless the rotor is really rusted on, the pressure from the bolts should pop them free.

are you referring to the 2 holes where the screws are screwed on?

You asked if the holes for the bolts are the same as those from which the screws were removed.

No, there should be separate holes where you can insert the bolts.

Will try both the brute force and refined methods to remove rotors. I tried whacking it a few times yesterday before I gave up - made a tremendous ringing sound. Will let you guys know it it is.

Unfortunately the old rotors are not Original and as such they do not have any holes to put a bolt through. However when I installed the replacement rotor, which is original part, I do see what you mean.

So it was the brute force whack the old rotor from the back with a hammer. I did cover the hammer with a cloth to reduce the noise. One rotor done and another to go.
