Center display for '92 SC300
#1
The factory center display above the stereo has black graphics backlit by green screen. This is the display for the vent settings and positions. Well, the leftmost portion (about an inch) of the backlighting (the green portion) on mine is now dark. Can someone please tell me if this is an easy fix? Is it just a bulb I can replace in the backlighting of the display? Or am I in for an expensive replacement of the entire center display??

Replacements
I read a couple of posts from a guy representing a firm that sells replacements. I believe they were about $365 and cna be easily installed no experience needed. Do a internet search. LCD display

well I did the net search and found some instructions on attempting to change the globe bulbs (I think that is what gave out on mine) that provide the backlight to the climate control display (green). It involves de-soldering the bulbs abd re-soldering new ones. I will attempt this when I get some free time.
mjdart, thanx for the lead but my net search could not find anyone or company selling the LCD climate control panels for around $365. I may have to go this route if I end up messing mine up. Could you pls help me find that info?
thanx so much!

thanx mj!
for your guidance in the right direction - most helpful!
Funny thing is, the damn thing (climate control panel) is now fine! I'm sure it's only a temporary blessing and that I'll have to confront it sooner or later.
