Question

Greetings,
I have a "higher" mileage LS400 (84Kmiles) and anticipate that the Starter, alternator, PS pump, AC compressor, timing belt. will give out at some point.

This information would help us anticipate failure and replace these components prior to leaving us on the road.(not that a Lexus would ever do that) Thanks for taking the time.

1) Year of vehicle and model
2) # of miles
3) type of driver, cruiser, performance (a performance driver puts a little more stress on the engine and components,eg: higher revs etc.)
4) Starter-miles when replaced due to failure
5) Power steering pump-miles when seals went and miles when the pump needed to be replaced due to internal problems
6) Alternator-miles that it had to be replaced due to internal problems ,eg:wear, if you replaced it due to Power steering leaks , indicate so.
7) AC compressor- miles at replacement and leaks in system, what was the weak point.
8) Timing belt-miles at failure (rare) and if you replaced it prior to failure, was belt in good condition.

If you had NO problems with some of the above , or just a few, Please respond to Questions 1,2 and 3, this will tell us that you have not had any problems at a given mileage,(which is a good thing).

Thanks for participating.

Smile Here is my data for this survey.

This is about as major as its been for my vehicle. Lexus serviced .
1993 LS400
present mileage=85K
Previous miles = cruiser

52K miles-Re-seal power steering pump (no alternator involvement)
82K miles rear rod bushings and axle boots.
During 85K miles -2 batteries, one set of brakes

No other items other than antenna mast a few months ago.

Not bad for 85K miles huh!!
