Hello,

I am driving a 2000 RX300 AWD,
while driving over bumps, esp when turning rifht, and esp. when its cold, I hear hollow sound from the front left wheel. I was told it is probably the upper strut mount.
Did anyone change this part? how much should it cost?

The mount probably cost about $100.00 each or less, and the labor shouldn't be more than 3 hrs.

 

There was a TSB on strut mounts but I don't know if it extended to model years beyond 99 nor how much luck you would have requesting it this far into the life of a 2000 even if it does, as the failures tended to occur after just a few thousand miles. Worth a try, I'd think.............
