Default New to LX forum

Just purchased my wife a 2014 LX570 with 55k on the clock. White on black interior. Drove back from the Lexus dealer yesterday. Very smooth ride and it surely feels like a tank. Glad to know my family is in a safe vehicle. There is a difference seeing the MPG on paper and then seeing the needle dropping as I accelerate. I have had many Lexus examples and currently own a 2010 LS460 Sport Package. I will now frequent this forum as well. Cheers!

Very nice find, I love the white on these lx570s. Welcome to the lx forum. There aren’t as many of us here as compared to the ls forums. The mpg is the only thing this suv you will need to worry about.

Thanks! Like you said just the car alone took 3 months to purchase as there is such a limited amount of LX570s produced in the market. Noticed that in California it is even more limited as many people looking for these cars are in areas that truly demand these type of capabilities that the vehicle has to offer due to weather and terrain condition.

Congratulations on your new truck. The 200 series trucks are almost impossible to find in Idaho, especially during the winter where they're a necessity, big-time.

Congrats. Being heavy during city driving it can be bad on mpg. On highway when you are cruising at a steady it’s easy to get 18-21 mpg on it. Just local driving is bad. Other than reliability, safety was another primary reason why we bought ours. It is like a tank.

Thanks everyone!

I noticed the 3rd row seat is missing the headrest for the middle seat. Contacted the Lexus dealer and it looks like I’m SOL. The “as is” document you sign when you buy the vehicle relieves these monkeys from having to take ownership to do what’s right. I expected more purchasing an expensive preowned vehicle from a Lexus dealer. Lesson learned.

That headrest normally lives inside one of the rear seats...unzip the back of the seat and see if it might be there. Did you get the tool kit?

NICE!!!

OUR LX570 is also white.......VERY SHARP INDEED!!

When my wife saw the following video a while back when we were contemplating upgrading from our old 2000 LX470 with 280K+ miles on the odo......she wanted one AS SHOWN with PCS!! It took us a little over a year to locate a brand new one in SoCal back in 2013!!! We missed the "GOLDEN PEARL" back in our old 2000 LX470 where the OEM factory paint had actual gold flakes I think which made it really shine in the sun!!! They don't offer this anymore 😔

In SoCal stop and go traffic, we get around 7 to 8 mpg!!! But in sustained very high speed highway cruising.....we get over 21 mpg!!! Not bad for such a heavy vehicle. For comparison......if I drive above 80mph on my CT200h, the mpg drops SUBSTANTIALLY to like 28mpg!!! Normally the CT200h will do like 44mpg in stop and go traffic!!! Similar trends in our RX450h.

If you do the regular routine maintenance.......THIS LX570 WILL last you A LONG TIME!! Somewhere I had read that Toyota make the LC/LX to last at least some 350K+ miles before an engine/transmission overhaul is needed (of course with regular routine maintenance done).

Enjoy your LX570!!?

I agree - I also initially thought mine was not included but then I found it in the back side of the 3rd row seats.

@hankinid Question, do you know if there are suppose to be 2 tool kits with the LX or just 1? I'm referring to the one in the tail gate. Mine came with 1 only.

North American market trucks have a tool kit on the passenger side. Trucks in other markets may come with a set of reflectors for roadside use stored on the driver side.

If we're headed for Idaho back country, I normally include a little brown bear accessory...Personal Protection

Toyota also supplies what they call a "first-aid" kit...expensive for what you get but it fits behind the little door on the passenger side rear. You can make your own after 5 minutes in a drug store with better pieces and a much lower price.

hth

Steve

It was in the back of the seat storage under the zipper as you mentioned! The dealer told me that the seller had told them that they lost it years ago. Seems like they never even reached out to the seller for the headrest. Thank you again! You definitely saved me some coin on this one.
