Considering adding a 2013-2015 LX to the family

I drive a 2011 Land Cruiser with ARB BP51 suspension and 17" wheels and KO2 tires. It's been a great vehicle but I'm tiring of the rough ride. I'm looking for some honest feedback on the LX 570 vs another Land Cruiser. I'm considering the 13-15 model because I'm not really fond of the new refresh. We also own a 2014 GL350 and a 2017 NX200.

I'd like to hear about ride quality on smooth and rough roads. Roads in the winter here in NY don't get much worse andwe never go off road. Comfort on long trips? Around town? I've found the Land Cruiser isn't very quiet. Lots of wind noise, I even have to close the sunshade to mute the wind noise.

I'd especially like to hear from anyone who has owned a Land Cruiser 200 and an LX570.

Prices are running $50-$60K depending on location and mileage.

Thanks for your time, Anthony

'08 LC stock except for air bags and equipped with Michelin 18" AT2's for 200,000+ miles and an '14 LX for 70,000 km's stock except for 20" AT2's. I resisted the "bling" for a while but because we can't buy LC's in Canada and the $ has fallen the LX was the only real option available. I love the LX and I have towed my 25' travel trailer to Dawson City in the Yukon with both. More comfortable ride, nicer leather, auto dimming headlights, radar cruise, auto wipers and a better dealer experience.

We have a 2013 LX570 since new and it's a very smooth ride.

I have a MY15 with 35k miles. All stock. Ride on highway is very very smooth, seat (driver's) is excellent. Noise insulation, I think the front portion of the vehicle has very good wind /road noise insulation but the rear (towards the 3rd road) is 'ok' IMO. Suspension (I set at normal) is very good on normal road, not plush / harsh but just right. But on large bumpy roads, you still feel secure and sure foot. Definitely can feel the weight of the truck. 3rd road seat IMO suitable for kids only since the floor board is too high / seat too low. I've ridden on MY12 GL450, the LX570 is better in terms of ride and fitting quality. Overall, it's one of the best vehicle I've sat in.

Anthony we've cross-shopped both and own a 16 LX570; however in terms of ride quality it is genuinely a toss-up.

You can get a 16 LC in your price range, it has the newer tech and I think very similar noise-insulation compared to a 16 LX, rides comfortable and smooth especially given it sits on 18" tires (vs the 21" tires on the LX).

That said, the first time my wife sat in a 13 LX, she was in love. I think you'll face 2 challenges:
1) There are far less LC 200's for sale than LX570's, so your selection among 200's will be far & few in between
2) Given you're looking at pre-owned, you'll spend roughly the same amount of $$$ on a 200 or LX....given which, I'd go for a LX.

Only caveat is the LC/LX runs best on open roads or questionable terrain; in city stop & go driving it is a heavy truck to maneuver and sounds like it. My only ask is at least test drive a 16 (or a new) LC, I think you'll like the newer tech & interior, and you can find a 16 LC that won't break your budget!

Neighbor has a LC - I think it's a 2011 or 2012.
The ride in our 2015 LX is quieter and smoother.

The service experience is a no brainer for us - The local LEXUS dealer is fantastic.
Squeaky clean new loaner / espresso at the fancy coffee bar - and tempting treats.
If you find a Lexus certified - I personally would go that route - next four services are on the house and you get 2 year / unlimited mileage bumper to bumper.
We've taken our LX on long trips -2,000 + and enjoyed every minute of it - comfort mode and cruise control at 75-80.
The millage was a surprise - better than expected.

Yes, the LX570 is the way to go.

We have a 2013 LX570. We are currently on our summer road trip from SoCal to St. Louis MO (Some 1800 miles each way). We arrived in St. Louis MO after two nights of stops (on the third afternoon we arrived at St.Louis MO).

We leisurely drove about 600 miles each day and checked into a hotel for the night.

The drive is VERY EASY and comfortable. Averaged about 18 mpg going 75 mph. This is in contrast to our 2015 "C" class 31 feet RV with a Ford E450 chassis/6.2 liter gas V10 engine which got like 7 mpg ON A GOOD DAY GOING DOWNHILL VERY NOISY AND BUMPY REALLY LIKE A TRUCK!!! GLADE WE SOLD THE RV RECENTLY. LOL.
