Default Which Toyota/Lexus vehicle's rims will fit the LX?

Would someone mind posting a list of which Toyota/Lexus vehicles come with rims that are interchangeable with the LX?

I know how to google bolt patters etc, but it would be helpful to have a short list of vehicles that I can search for as I look to replace my 21s (for exampl, phrases to search on Craigslist such as “ Tundra rims” etc and then knowing which years will fit.

I'd like to go to either 18s or 20s.

Thanks!

I use 18" Land Cruiser wheels for AT tires and 18" Tundra/Sequoia wheels for winter tires. Any other Tundra/Sequoia wheels should also work fine.

Winter tires go on 18" Tundra take-off's, other-than-winter tires are mounted on 18" oem wheels. You're looking at 14mm studs, 5 per wheel.

I probably still need to add that Tundra has compatible wheels from model year 2007, Sequoia from 2008. I am not quite sure about Land Cruiser, but I suppose that any wheels from LC 200 should be O.K.

Thinking of going with something all black, like factory Tundra 20s with PVD black chrome, like the attached. I think the all back will look good on my ride.

Below is a quick Photoshop of the Tundra wheels on your LX. Not the most realistic, but perhaps it'll give you a little better feel for how it'd look. IMO, the reflection that the PVD coating (vs. most black paint) provides gives some feature to the wheel and makes it less risky for looking "wrong" for the vehicle.

For me, all-black wheels add another layer to the tricky endeavor of going with aftermarket wheels, which is already plenty difficult thing to get right and actually improve the appearance of the vehicle instead of making it just look like someone just slapped a set of aftermarket wheels on the vehicle. Add to that the potential for black wheels to just look featureless, and make the vehicle look generic, kinda like all the other vehicles with featureless all-black wheels. The problem for me is that I don't have enough imagination to accurately picture how a specific wheel will look on my vehicle, so I have to either find another vehicle with those wheels, or take the expensive chance.

Thank you for doing that! Super helpful!

I have very limited creative ability when it comes to things like design. I cannot even use photoshop!

I agree that the featureless flat black would not look good. I think the shiny gloss black would look good, but Im not certain. The photoshop certainly helps..

I'm looking for the same thing - bought my wife's 2016 LX570 (pre-owned) with 18k miles and it has new 21-inch tires but the ride is not as comfortable as a new LC we were looking at. From reading this and IH8MUD forums, we're 99% sure we would be looking for Tundra 5-lug rim (check out post #6 here https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/tun...bility.988469/) no spacers required. Keep the 21's as spares or something..

You are correct...diameters differ but that's all. Be very aware that Tundra steel wheels use a completely different lug nut than aluminum wheels.. Using the wrong lug nuts is seriously dangerous, as well as stupid. Torque specs are also very different between steel and aluminum wheels.

Nice thing about steel Tundra wheels is that they're cheap...my 4 were 0-mile take-off's...$100 with lug nuts, hub caps, and TPMS modules. Sometimes, the truck's TPMS ecu may not recognize non-LX or even non-200 series modules. You can either replace them if they won't communicate with the ECU, or get used to looking at a little yellow TPMS warning light.

Mine are painted oem Tundra silver...not enough available time to repaint. When spring arrives, I'll either have them Rhino Liner black, or black powder coat with ~ 20% gloss. That said, I've got a 6-pack of Midnight Metallic Grey, the body color, in spray cans...lots of choices.

21's are very limited in different sizes and tread patterns. so 20's give you more choices and a bit more comfort. I prefer 18's as there are tons of tire choices and decent sidewall cross-section for getting off-road.

Some Land Cruiser and LX caps are interchangeable, some not, and others fit back and forth with a bit of modification on the inside. Although we have oem caps for the Land Cruiser and LX, they're up in the attic with the engine covers and 3rd row seats.
