Default Daylight Saving time is not working

Why does my clock in the car not change time automatically? Does it have to have cell phone data to function and I always carry my cell phone with me all the time?

Thank you

I noticed the same thing when I drove to work this morning. I went to settings and turned daylight savings time off, under the clock menu. The clock is automatically set by GPS but surprised DST is not auto update.

I'm not at all surprised. If Toyota wanted automatic time changes twice a year, they'd have to update their truck software for different dates each spring and fall. GPS takes care of time changes otherwise since it knows when you cross a time zone boundary...ergo, no effort needed by Toyota. The only way to change time manually is how you and I did it...

Cell phone data and whether or not you have a phone in the truck makes no difference...see post above this one.

I am going to call technical support from Lexus dealer to see if they have any idea and will update you all.

You can call the toll free number on lexus.com in the owners section. Helpful to have the VIN handy when you call.

Some people have lots of extra time. Calling Toyota isn't going to change what you have, and you have to change back and forth to and from DST manually.

REDHORSE, thanks much for the dose of reality.

Some might reflect a bit prior to whining...e.g., if 'Yota's GPS has to ask you for what region in the U.S. you need nafvigation, why would you think it would know where you are and adjust the hour accordingly. The clock will change sooner or later though after crossing a time border. It's also has to figure out if you are in a state that has or doesn't have DST in the first place, which it's unable to do. Not sure if 'Yota could update the nav's software, but I'd bet it would need major changes beyond that.

OT, do any pricey suvs that compete with the 200 series have DST change ability?

Far less than a first-world problem.

I don't know about Audi's SUV line, but my 2015 Audi S8 changes automatically. However, my 2009 Porsche 911 didn't change automatically.

I like the analog clock since I'm used to counting on my fingers and the hourly marker on the clock. Too bad we can't easily get rid of DST. It can be a pain in the rear sometimes.

Same here...best I can do is a analog clock phone widget, but it times out.

I have always had to manually change the clock on every Lexus I have owned. Just happens twice a year and is not really an issue to me. I would not waste my time calling Lexus support but others might feel the need to do so.

My Navigation screen clock changed for daylight savings time, but my digital clock (2011 model) near the radio did not change. I assume I need to change that manually and if so, how?
