Default Where did my sound go?

I changed the battery and the sound was gone. I checked all the fuses and they're good(I have an electronics background), but still can't get sound. The mode changes, but when I change the volume the numbers that show the volume going up or down are no longer there. I read the posts that are here about the amp replacement and I'm hoping I don't have to do that, if I do i'm tricking it out old school. If I have too change it out, will I also lose my a/c controls?

Have you tried hold down the volume button to reboot the radio/nav system?

Yeah, I held it for a minute and nothing happened. Just powered on and then off, I tried it twice.

It's ironic you're in Jax and I actually scheduled an appointment there today to bring my truck for a service check because of this and the locking differential light has tourette's....

So, I'm an impatient old Marine that used to do car stereo installations back throughout the 90's and figured that it was going to e like a certain amp from back then that had fuses in the inside, well it didn't. I've taken the radio out the out and apart and no matter what I do I can't get the volume to even show up on the radio and since I've tested all the speakers I know they work, I just can't check the output from the head unit because it won't respond. going back in......

Yeah it’s one of those things that won’t let me sleep. I’ve narrowed it down to the head unit not the amp.

If so it will be expensive to replace, even if you can find a used one.

The diff lock light issue can be exercised by regularly driving the truck for a bit while in low range...not an uncommon issue.

If you're not a user on ih8mud.com, you may want to check it out. A quick search on the 200 series forum there got me this thread...LOTS of reading but having had the same yellow light turned on when it should have been off, I've followed the thread almost since it started. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/dif...riving.853294/

I learned a lot more about the TC lock button than from my owners manual...e.g., if you're in sand it helps a bunch to unlock the TC.

Sweet, Thanks!! Mostly street riding, but just bought a new place on 10.5 acres, so I'll be dragging a trailer around a lot more than I used to.
