A friend of mine had just bought a brand new Raptor. I was expecting a FI V8. But NO, IT WAS A V6 FI. Still very nice, but just did not sound and feel like a proper Lexus.

Since toyota approved the SC for this power train I don't see any problems mechanically speaking. The most difficult part would be the ECU tuning. The ISFs ECU was successfully cracked and tuned thanks to Alientech. I'm not sure if the tools released to crack the lexus ECUs in the isf/rcf can be used to crack and tune the LX. I'm hopeful though.

BTW, I'm not sure whether any of you know this but Henessey offers a super charger specifically for the LX. I'm not sure how they tune it or if it's even still available. I belive it costs around 15k.

Got a reply from Magnuson. They can provide a tuner kit, however NO supports on installaton and tuning It would be very nice to have a supercharger on the 570! But I don't have the ball to test fits one on a brand new 570, lol....

Have a whipple on my Raptor, damn it's good!!

So paying $15K and get "NO supports on installation and tuning". ??? IT'S JUST their way of saying "you are on your own if anything goes wrong".

Some might go ahead and do it. But I don't see myself do this any time soon.

is that so. Where is link?
Lexus dont support sc installation starting from 2016 onwards. Like i said, tranny may not handle it and software all different.
thats probably why 3rd party makers are looking the other way.

There is also plenty of hints that the next LX will be Turbo charged.

What link? And as I mentioned, toyota approved the SC for this power train, so I don't see how the tranny might not be able to handle it. The major hurdle is cracking the ECU.

Toyota sold the SC for this power train.

Edit: never mind. Forgot that the 17 LX has a new tranny.

The comment about tranny not able to handle it is likely correct. LX450D still uses 6 speed presumably because 8 speed can not handle the torque coming from a diesel.

Similarly in the MB SLK55 AMG VS MB SL55AMG. The SLK55 AMG uses a 7 speed auto vs the 5speed auto in the SL55 AMG due to increased torque.

So I'm hoping Lexus will come out with a SC LX soon with a tranny to match.

Could someone tell me what you would do with a SC in a LX570? I can see it in turbo diesel for more towing power, but go faster? Really. I'll need bigger brakes, firmer suspension, lower profile tires, and lower the truck too to for good racing, right? If for racing, how many people actually use an LX 570 to race or drive faster with the intend of weaving in and out of traffic? Is an SC better for off road too?

I guess I'm old school when it comes to SC in a truck. Unless the manufacturer decided to put one in reliably, I'll sit back and watch the show.

!!! Similarly already in the works for the LS, LCF (SOON), and etc.

Try a SCed truck, you will change your mind

It sure helps in every situation, on road, off road, cause you have much more torque right from startup.

I dont want to spill the beans but yes there is a higher end LX in works. It will be a TT V8 5.0 L likely shared with above LCF and RCF.
Dont ask how I know. Next gen LX its coming.
