Default What I love about my LX 570

I am new to the 570 world and what I am getting to love are small things about my truck. Coming from a LX470 and a number of land cruisers before that some of these things are great. Directional headlamps are so cool. I love that I have Bluetooth streaming. I bought it in California and drove it home to OKC in 2 days and found the ride so smooth and very comfortable for long hauls. I do miss the simplicity of the 470 but getting to love this truck. It does drive much bigger but I don't mind that, it's a 3 ton tank with Land Cruiser roots. Enjoying the ride

Same here. We traded our trouble free (but aging) 2000 LX470 with some 280k+ miles since new for another brand new 2013 LX570 back in 2013. Bluetooth and all the electronic updated upgrades were much needed. Of course now with the 2018 LX570 there are even more electronic upgrades. What I don't have on our 2013 LX570 is the BSM feature. The BSM was not offered in 2013. Although our 2013 RX450h has BSM. Go figure.

Enjoy the LX570 !!! 👍👍👍👍

I loved my LX470. It was super smooth and you felt isolated from engine and road noise, even more than the LX570 in my opinion.

But the LX570 is a very fit replacement and after trying so many vehicles, the 570 is the best!

Hope you enjoy yours, Sir!

I still love the '01 LX, enough that I didn't even consider selling it once I had the '13 Land Cruiser. Side-by-side, they look like they'd fit in the same box...though the 100 series is easier to drive and park due to, imo, better visibility. Significant increase in power and 6-speed on the 200 gives outstanding mileage cruising at 80+ mph and just a little over 2000 rpm.

Grando, enjoy the truck.

If I could have just had some more power in my LX 470 I would have kept it. I especially liked being able to open the rear "wind wing" windows, the way the 2nd row seats stowed, and the ability to remove and replace the third row seats. My 2011 570 is OK, but would really rather have my 470 back with more power.

Thanks guys. I read lots of folks complain about the MPG but like Hankinid I love the MPG. Improvement from an 80 series and the lx470!

Folks who whine about mileage apparently may not understand concepts like "3-tons" and "aerodynamics of a brick". MPG is something you check before buying...if you can afford a truck with a price approaching $100K, what is the deal with mpg?

The issue with MPG is not only cost, but Range. Being able to drive 500 miles on the highway between fill ups is nice. For instance my Jeep got crappy MPG, but had a 25 gallon tank so Range was great, so the MPG didn't bother me.

This might help out...adds around 15 gallons...

I'm not going to install an auxiliary tank lol. Vehicle needs to have great range from the factory. The LX has a big tank, but the economy is so low range isn't great. If I'm getting 17MPG on the highway, I'm only getting 400 miles a tank highway. Contrast with my Jeep where I got 20 highway, that's 500 miles. That's a whole hour+ more driving before I have to refuel.

I will gladly accept the 100 mile penalty to drive the LX over a jeep. Besides my need to find a bathroom after driving 4-5 hours still rules!

My point wasn't to compare the LX and the Jeep lol, obviously the LX is better it costs twice as much.

The Jeep was simply an example of a vehicle that gets poor mileage but has great range because of the size of its tank.

This is a debate that's been going on for years, it feels like!

I love the LX, and while I never thought I would "re-up" after our 2010 ("been there, done that" was my feeling), here I am with a 2017 LX and with zero regrets (even after having considered other vehicles).

Having said this, I will repeat what I've said before: on the range front, it is a bit absurd for this tank to be smaller than 30 gallons (given the LX's fuel economy, specifically).

On the fuel economy front, I will also repeat points I've made before... It is not about the gas $ per se. Features like direct injection, cylinder deactivation and idle-shutoff, would make this motor more efficient. Lexus hasn't really pursued the last two (and FWIW, while my experience with deactivation in newer vehicles has been positive, idle-shutoff I have not been as crazy about [on gasoline cars where you hear the starter engage; my beloved 600 does it flawlessly ]). Direct injection, on the other hand, they have done and arguably should've incorporated into trucks by now.

Thank you, Steve! Sorry for the delay... I've been on here, sort of, but hadn't posted in weeks.
