If you like the aggressive look but don't need a D rated tire, I would seriously consider the Toyo ATII in 275/60R20 - it's P rated, so it will be lighter, more comfortable but still be good off-road. If I wasn't towing horses I would have gone for the Toyo.
zink, I did something similar with my 200...went with LT Toyo AT IIs on 18" on oem Toyota aluminum wheels from spring to late fall. Then Blizzaks on 18" Tundra take-off rims from around November through mid-March. I don't notice road noise from either the Toyos or the Blizzaks.

Wife's Dodge diesel is the horse-hauler...same tires, same size. Great tread life.

Same Toyos are also on wife's LX. Great tread wear on all of them.

The increase in sidewall provides a good ride, better than stock. MPG has probably dropped about 1 MPG overall. There is slightly more noise, a bit of a hum but nothing intrusive. Driving up a hill, the transmission will drop a gear to maintain speed more readily than with the stock tire/wheel combo. Most importantly, I have not experienced any rubbing and I regularly drive off-road around our mini-ranch giving the suspension a chance to articulate fully. Any larger tire and I'm certain rubbing would be experienced.

To the poster that went with the Michelin Defender tire in the same size I installed, I am sure the ride must be superb!
Yes, ride is definitely much improved over stock. No rubbing at all as well. Very happy with the setup.

I assume it works when the suspension is in "low" mode without rubbing too?

If I end up with my wheels powder coated black I'm going with the BFG a TKO two 33's and if I end up with My wheels refinished in silver I'm going with the Michelin LTX MS'2's 275/ 60/20's

Why the difference in tires based on wheel colors?

since i don't "need" BFG AT KO2's to drive to the mall, it's more of a fashion statement with the black wheels. I can't believe I just typed that ???

What are your feelings on the additional 15lbs per tire of unsprung weight? Bigger 10 ply truck tire should be more rugged and be safer from road hazards, should also wear longer. But they also would put more stress on the suspension (Wear). Or is this already built into our LX's and Lexus just puts lighter wheels and tire's on our LX570's based on intended use in the US?

If weight is your concern then get 17 or 18" wheels. The RWs are the lightest wheel for this platform at 22 pounds/24 with trim ring. I have the 17" RWs and 10-ply/E-load LT285/70/17 (Defender LTX) and they are about 10 pounds lighter per wheel/tire assembly (70 pounds, vs 79 weight of unused OEM spare, then an extra pound for wheel for lighter lugs). 18" Tundra take-off alloys are very cheap and widely available.
The steel wheels commonly used on 200s around the world can have weights of 45 pounds for just the wheel.
So if you want to keep your 20s, then an extra 15 pounds will not be an issue beyond a slight difference in performance.

Thanks good info. If steel wheels and even light tire's in other parts of the world would weigh minimum 85-90lbs and up to 105lbs, then I see your point with OEM Lexus alloys and 56lb "E" rated tire's weighing 80lbs should be right in the middle of normal for LX's worldwide.

My personal feeling is that the additional weight of my wheel/type combo will not impact longevity. The increase in diameter has the biggest impact as it affects the gearing. I have noticed that the vehicle will more readily drop down a gear on a slight incline than with OEM setup. From a performance point of view, reducing unsprung weight and keeping an overall diameter close to stock will improve acceleration and economy.

I need new tires in the next couple days (2 nails) and am thinking of the LTX M/S on my 2011 LX. Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks.
