2011 lx 570 Hood
I have a 2011 LX 570 with 104,000 miles. Ive noticed the front fender and hood have seen its better days with chips from normal highway use. Its getting to the point where it is starting to bother me. I take great care of the vehicle, washing and waxing it religiously. Every time I wash it now the chips really stand out. Has anyone had there hood re painted? How much do you think this would cost? Depending on the price, I may do the front fender as well. Also, is there a Lexus parts place that would sell a pre painted hood that I could install myself? Thanks

May be you should consider installing clear bra, if you paint.

OEM hood replacement skin is around $700. You'll need to take apart the present hood to re-use all the clips, latch parts, seals, and such. It will also then require painting. Spraying a hood will probably cost around $300. Aftermarket hoods can be a bit less expensive, but may not fit quite as well. You can get one with scoops and locking pins, if that's your thing. Or even go carbon fiber. You could shop around local pick and pulls for a hood from a wreck, but the LX sales in the US are so low that I doubt that you'd come across an LX at all. And one in your color with an intact hood would be almost a miracle.
Go with the re-spray of your current hood. Far less money and time to spend. Unless you and your significant other are looking for a car project as a bonding experience? Hey, you could get the replacement hood for Valentine's Day.
