Yes you can drive with it in the low or high position as long as you go slow. Anything above slow will make the LX revert to the "N" normal/neutral height.

I have been is many parking garages and while it looks low I have never hit anything! Good Luck!

It will stay "LOW" until you hit some 19 mph. Then it will automatically go to NORMAL height.

So if the height is a serious problem, I would practice in an open parking lot and see at what speed the LX will auto rise up.

High height mode is "2 higher (F) and "2.4 higher (R) and is available under 18 MPH.
Low height mode is "2.4 lower (F) and "1.6 lower (R) and is available under 7 MPH.

I drive a lot in parking garages and did have the antenna on top hit the safety bar once. For the 2016+ LX as long as you are under 9 mph, it will stay in low mode. However, if you did go above that there is still time slow and hit the low position again before it returns to normal height.

Entrance safety bars are typically set three inches lower than the lowest point in the parking garage. But, there is no regulation for this that I am aware of. Owner/operators of garages have a liability issue if you clear the safety bar and then wedge your vehicle between their floor and ceiling. Also the down time for the garage while your car is pulled free. And tow trucks will not fit in most parking decks.

I suppose that having a vehicle with height adjustment like the LX might give the owner of the garage an out from liability, though. "Mr. Lexus obviously raised his vehicle by mistake once he entered my garage, therefore he is responsible for damages to both his fancy SUV and to my garage, and for all the money I'd have made during the time his vehicle blocked my entrance.

Gotta love lawyers. I have 5 in my immediate family. Did you know that 1 of every 300 adults in the USA has a law degree?
