2008 LX570 Purchase Question
I'm looking to purchase a 2008 LX570 with 160k miles. My issue is that it looks like it was used a lot for towing (or the former owner just drove it hard) because its had the transfer case replaced and a number of services for the rear differential. My question is... should I be nervous about purchasing based on the car needing a new transfer case (120k miles) and so many issues with the rear differential? My father drove a LX470 until about 300k miles with no issues (other than timing belts and water pumps). My mom has a 2014 RX which has been great for her. I'm coming from my second Jeep GC Overland (2012) which has problem after problem at 60k miles. Much different than my 2002 Jeep GC Overland, which was trouble free even at 180k miles when I traded it in - I'm still kicking myself. Has anyone had to replace a transfer case? Was it a fluke or is this normal wear and tear? I'm worried about getting a lemon or a beat-up LX570. I know the old LX can run forever, but have less knowledge and resources for the newer models. Opinions and advice are appreciated

Failed transfer case is pretty uncommon on the 200 series. Maybe you can get more info from the dealer that did the replacement and service. Either way a full pre purchase inspection will give you a good idea on the health of the full vehicle.
