Default Which Year of Lexus LX570 is best made

I am looking for upgrade to LX570, but not want to pay the full price of brand new. Can anyone provide your opinion of which year of LX570 is worth the money and has less issue? Many Thanks.

Lance

If looking at used I would go for 2012-2015. That is where I started, but I ended up with a 2016 as it is the improvements to the interior and infotainment system were very significant.

I suggest reading the wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LX

Buy the best truck you can afford, I went with a 2013.

I've owned 2010, 2014 and now 2016. Buy a 2013/14...built like a bank vault. Although I prefer the handling of 2016 by a wide margin

My answer is almost always (classics such as FJ60/62 exempted), the newest is best. Unless there is some feature in an older model that you must have, that is no longer available, always get the newest one you can. I don;t worry about first year of production of a new line that much either as the good manufacturers don't make big mistakes. Certainly, the new LX is just new from the front seats forward -nothing really new other than the transmission.

I don't think there's a particlular year or years where the truck is "built better"...reliability records over the years tend to demonstrate that. Since the LX and Cruiser are built on a dedicated assembly line, in Japan and using 100% Japanese content parts, that's what I would expect.

If you're buying used, maintenance records reflecting service "per the book" are key.

A couple threads on ih8mud.com to check for year-to-year differences...

I had an 09 with 112K on it that I drove for 2 weeks, got out of that and into a 29K mile 2013 and there wasn't much perceptible difference.

We have hardly any issues with these trucks. Obviously the logic that newest, lowest mileage, nicest truck you can get applies.

If you're looking pre owned I would look for one with Luxury Package, Mark Levinson, DVDs, etc... THe difference in the market isn't as big as you'd think on a loaded one as compared to a basic one.

Yep id agree here on this, we looked for a while before buying and found our fully loaded 07 model cheaper than most others on the market, with low ks and full service history.

You might also be in a region where a year or 2 old LX is cheaper than the same MY Land Cruiser...just due to how many ordered by dealers in a specific Toyota distribution region.

Yep we were looking at landcruiser sahara until we saw the price of the lx570, and the bigger motor won us over ( in australia they only come with 4.7 lt motor)
