I purchased a 2015 LX this weekend
First, thank you TexasLX570 for all of your information. You really helped me out and I appreciate it. We have been car shopping for a third row vehicle for about 6 months and I am glad it is over with. We are very pleased with our decision. We wanted the 2016, since it had BSM and RCTA, and thought we would wait about a year, hoping the price would go down. But, we pulled the trigger on a 2015 and I wanted to share the details. We have a Nebula Gray, with parchment interior. I asked them to tint the windows and add a remote start. I also went out on a limb and asked them to replace my dash on my 2004 RX330, a $2800 repair, and they agreed. I know dashes are being replaced by and exhanced warranty, but, for some reason, my VIN was not included and Lexus refused to pay for it. So, I am happy they agreed to do that. Here's to hoping my LX will be as reliable as my RX.
I am so thankful I found car forums. I have a deposit on a 2016 XC90 and after finding swedespeed and seeing post after post about different problems, I was very hesitant to move forward with that purchase. I understand the problems could only represent a fraction of cars sold, but, still. After reading the LX forums, I haven't read about problems with the LX and that is what encouraged me to look at this vehicle.

gptgirl,
Congratulations! That's a beautiful color combo, love the parchment interior. One thing I noticed from the LX forum is the almost complete lack of issue threads...try that on an MB forum. My brother has a 20 year old land cruiser with 250k problem free miles so hopeful of the same since we keep our cars for a long time. Enjoy the new car! Was Aman your salesman?

Anything later, to me, is iffy at best. Once Volvo was sold, "issues" multiplied.
An LX or LC is orders of magnitude more reliable than a new Volvo.
Congratulations on your LX!!

Congratulations. You will be very happy. I know you were shopping for a long time and put a lot of time into making the decision. I had a 2002 that was terrific for 14 years, and also had good trade-in value. I just got the parchment interior on my 2016 as well and really like it. It seems very elegant. (I do use seat covers from when I am sweaty from my workout). The 2016 does have some of the new technology, but it is basically the same car as the 2015 LX, and you saved a ton of money.

Here are real numbers from a San Antonio Dealer for a 1 Feb 2015 LX570 purchase.
MSRP 92895
Purchase Price 77168 + TTL
Included in above purchase price are the following dealer adds: full tint, pinstripes, 2 additional service visits, and Remote Engine Start...probably worth $1500 or so.
They still had 4 2015 leftovers
