Default What is good price for a 15' LX570 Leftover?

First off, the Lexus members seemed mostly balanced with a slight preference toward value when buying vehicles. I am looking to replace my old Sequoia, but the damn thing is so reliable and practical that it is hard to let go.

In any case, Lexus is giving a $10K off MSRP right now on the 15' LX. Is this a reasonable good deal, or should I wait another 6 months to a year for a used 16' LX? I do like the new interior, but what is more important to me is the driving dynamic technology and adjustments. Do you know if there are improvements on the 16' over the 15' such as real-time suspension adjustments?

As mentioned against invoice is the way to price it. You can see invoice pricing at web site like edmunds.com. With 16s already in, 15 easily can be bought under invoice. I would look at invoice minus incentives from Lexus - 3%. 3% is amount of money dealer gets back at the end of the year for each car sold. Also you can do something like me. I have bought 16 Land Cruiser for $1000 over invoice. Depending on config invoice pricing is $10-12k cheaper. 16 LC is a better choice than 15 LX in my book.

I was quoted $2,000 off of invoice for a 2015 leftover by an "Internet manager" is the SF bay area without haggling. I believe I could easily get it down to $4,000 which translates into roughly $10K off of MSRP.

Even with $4,000 off of invoice, I still can't convince myself it is a good deal.

This particular dealership needs more motivation for my business. I plan to check back with the local dealerships in the last week of December.

The invoice price is probably 85, 463 since msrp is $92, xxx. Essentially, it going to be $82K plus TTL. Aside from the interior/larger LCD/HUD, 8 speed, LED headlights, and body style, are there any mechanical features that were upgraded on the 2016 over the 2015?

Most of the part under the body are the same from 2015, except more gears, most changes are the looks, the older model also has electronic, that's why it doesn't has the KDSS

Not a '15 leftover, but I'm headed today to pick up a '14 CPO, 18k miles, lux package, levinson, rear dvd, park assist, etc (sticker of $94k) for $67,700.

Thanks for providing a price data point. With $94k original sticker, it must have the Luxury package with pre-collision. Was it listed for $67,700? Or you negotiated down to that?

Listed at $71k. Yes. Lux package + pre collision, levinson, rear dvd, park assist. 18k miles. Like new condition. CPO warranty to 3yr/100k. Traded in my 14 land cruiser with 25k miles for $56k (avg of kbb, nada, true car, edmunds). I said no to the following offers until they honored my offer of $67.7: $69.5, $69.0, $68.7, $68.5, $68.0, and then I got $67.7.

That's $67.7 plus TTL or drive out price? Thanks for the clarification.

LX by definition has the electronically controlled HYDRAULIC (it's never been pneumatic) suspension with adjustable damping back to the series 80's.

The '16's have a different display but given the overall year change "advancement" of Toyota's electronics v. other manufacturers' systems, I don't see any earth-shaking changes in that department.

The 8-speed auto is reportedly less responsive than the older 6-speed.

I personally would look for a cop LX or LC (my pick) and let the original owner chomp on $15-25K or so in depreciation,

Steve

That's exactly what I did. Bought mine with 18k miles, and saved $26k off original sticker and picked up the CPO warranty in the process. No regrets so far....

I agree with the others, if you're considering a 15 LX leftover, look for a CPO 13 or 14. Save about $15-$25k with a longer Lexus warranty.
