Lexus is not one to make changes to models rapidly. Other than small tweeks, I am betting it will be 3 years before we see a change in the exterior.

The salesman at the nearby Lexus dealership mentioned something about 2017 being the year that the Toyota LC 200 is expected to change, and that Lexus will follow with a new design a couple months after. He mentioned those types of vehicles have 8 to 9 year design/series cycles

About 10-year cycle actually, at least if you consider the previous two generations. Can't wait to see what is coming out next as well. Will be glad to see the current 570 go and hoping Toyota will do a better job this time around.

That's more good news for me

Agreed. I was thinking about the small cosmetic changes like the spindle grill and not a major redo as in gong from the 470 to the 570. I think Lexus has a few years left in the 570 before they make a change like this. They are still selling pretty good.

That would put the LX 570 into the 10 year production timeline.
Lexus LX 570:
"Production 2007–present"
"Model years 2008–present"

I think Lexus is the only one that knows for sure.

The 10 year cycle of the 98-07 means nothing, the previous Land Cruiser was an 8 year cycle of 90-97. The 06 land cruiser/LX got a refresh for just two years before the new 08 model came out.
The Sequoia is long over due for a new design and if history is repeated, we should get a new model for 2015...that puts Sequioa at 8 years for 2015 (08-14), Land Cruiser at 8 years for 2015 (08-14)...both Sequoia and Land Cruiser skipped a model year and now line up to be merged into one global SUV for 2015.
Also, we should get a new LS for 2015 complete with a new powertrain that will serve as the base achitecture for the new engines for LX, LC and Sequoia as well as the 2015 Tundra.

I hope Lexus updates its LX at the 8 year cycle point and not 10. The current version is behind it's competition on many levels and the VERY LOW number of units being sold reflect that. However, since the LX shares many parts with the Tundra and Sequa, and the Tundra was just refreshed for 2014, I doubt the LX would be updated before it's 10 year cycle mark. Its a shame especially since the Mercedes GL is selling like crazy and the Range Rover has a waiting list several months long!
