well sadly toyota has yet again made it sure that making money is more important than making great cars. they are inviting the q7 drivers and the GL drivers for this segment. So now Range Rover is really the last standing great 4x4, no more great LX 470 UZJ 100, i hope the Land Cruiser is better than this. its just not exciting, the old LX was a trend setter, this is just following someone else.....sad...will have to see it person, but still you can tell what Lexus wants with this vehicle....NEW SEGMENT of drivers...

i absolutely LOVE THE INTERIOR... as to the exterior, i love the front, but im not to sure about the rear tailights. Maybe in person, it might look better.
It was great to see the L-Finesse technique applied to the SUVs, for the first time today. I cant wait to see this in person, along with the GX and RX redesign.

I don't think it looks that bad. I will wait to see it in person before I make any comments. I wonder if it has a bit more cabin room versus the 470? The interior though is very posh

Is it me or does the exterior look like a big GX470, my wife thought I was looking at a GX470, when I told her that it's the new LX she was like...Oh Really, not much imagination went to that design, just copy your best looking truck. As you can tell she loves her GX. Anyway the interior is the really nice. I am impressed.

After looking at these pictures, I've changed my opinion on the looks of the car. The back defintely has character because there is nothing like it on the road. It's a little funky but I like the overall look. The front is a little plain but in the head on picture, you can see a little bit of the LS460 in the upper part of the design. The lower part gives the truck a little bit of an aggressive look. I guess the only shot I don't like abouot the truck is the side shot. It totally looks like a big RAV4 and as I'm sure this truck will cost about 65k to 70k, I'm can't say that is a good thing.
Again, the interior is amazing and Lexus always does a good job making the interior look very luxurious, modern, and classic all at the same time.
Now I'm curious to know the pricing will be and what the MPG will be, especially with the government changing the way they determine MPG for the 2008 models.

LX470 looked fantastic. It looked like a big adventurous SUV.
This looks like an supersized subaru forester.
Front is too ls460 and rav4. Needs to looks big and tough.
Rear end looks like the new GM suv's. Bad proportions.
Side profile looks Honda Pilot/subaru foresteresque. Looks wagony
Don't get me wrong, i'm sure it'll be reliable, super fast, ultra quiet, and very comfortable. The powertrain sounds awesome. Although i think they should've added some direct injection. Not cool that a 35k tundra has the same power as a 70k lexus. 420 hp would be better.
A for everything except exterior. That gets a c

That's a sweet ride, other than being a beast (well at least not as huge as Escalade ESV or Navigator L), the new LX 570 figures to be the ultimate for Luxury Sports Utility Vehicles. Will draw sales from Land Rover Range Rover, aforementioned Escalade ESV, and Mercedes-Benz GL 450. The one thing I don't get is why Toyota stuck with the hand-brake parking brake, does it figure to last longer than the foot-pedal or was it too hard and expensive to implement the electronic one from LS.

I am also going to photoshop the image and see if I can drop dubs on the LX along with slamming-it-to-the-ground, anyone object to that? Anyway, nice set of wheels MPLexus301.
