Rolling backwards in neutral

Can anyone tell me why my '21 LX570 will roll forwards in neutral but not backwards ?

By design, really annoying. You can take your foot off the brake when your on a hill & the car will not roll backwards. "Hill holder"

THAT is funny, i was on a steep hill just yesterday and let it roll backwards. rolled maybe five feet and the brakes locked up tight. So NO, it will not freely roll backwards if in drive
