Exclamation Lexus LX570 to debut at NYIAS

Lexus have announced that they will introduce a new LX570 sport utility vehicle at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. The third generation of the LX-series is supposed to be developed independently of its one-time kissing cousin, the Toyota Land Cruiser. The move is aimed to eliminate overlap between the two brands and mitigate image problems that arise from selling a rebrand. Based on the nomenclature, expect to see Toyota's i-Force 5.7-liter V8 from the Tundra under the hood, as well as the de rigueur host of automatic, electric, heated, cooled, foldaway, wireless, auto-compensating power accessories.

FYI, said engine produces 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque.

Hopefully we will see the actual LX a day early like what happened with the IS-F

Also I hope the LX will have more hp than the Tundra, 400 hp would be nice.

2008 Porsche Cayenne S: 385 hp ($57,900 US)
2007 Mercedes Benz G500: 292 hp ($83,700 US)
2007 Range Rover Supercharged: 400 hp ($92,035 US)

Hopefully the LX570 wont see a huge increase in its price, so about $70,000 US (MSRP)

I am already happy to see the Tundra now being sold down here, and finally happy that Toyota/Lexus are looking to match some of their colleagues in the power department.

Yeah me too. LX should be proud of the fact that it's based on ledendary Land Cruiser. And that should be the selling point.

The press release doesn't say anything about the LC...I wonder if maybe the body style with L-Finesse (is that even confirmed?) will be the different body developed independently...
