Really Impressed with New Tires
Just replaced the junk OEM Dunlops (Noisy and only lasted 24K) with the newly released Continental CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology I found at tire rack. (285/50/20)
I wasn't expecting much but wow what a difference! Here are a few things that have improved.
1. Road Noise - These tires are Really quiet. It's the first thing I noticed after picking up the car.
They really compliment the already quiet cabin and take it to the next level.
2. Ride - A bit firmer (which I like) and handling is much more responsive.
It feels like the side walls are firmer and overall a more rigid tire.
3. Treadwear - Too early to say but here are the specs. UTQG of 680 with a treadlife warranty
of 6years/70K. I'll be happy if I get 50K+.
4. Mileage - Great, here is the proof. My best up to now was 19.2mpg with the Dunlops.
Took the pic at a signal after exiting the freeway.
5. Price - Good as well. I got them for $178/tire. (cheaper than the Dunlops or Michelins
on TR)
Just a quick review for those of you who are considering getting new tires.

Yes, all HWY at speeds between 60-75mph. Also, 10% above recommended tire pressure of 33psi.
It seems I'm getting about 5% better mpg all around.

Thanks - speed makes a difference - I drive more in the 75 - 80MPH range on the HWY - getting 16 to 18MPG. Headed out of town today - will up my tire pressure a little and hold my speed to 70.

16mpg seems on the low side considering all HWY even with 4 adults. What grade gas are you using?
I must say that my car was full as well with 2 adults, 2 kids, big dog and back was full with luggage.

16MPG would be low for me. On the Michelins at 70-75 for long periods of time I get at least 18 to 19

My LX570 comes back from Lexus service with 33-34psi so I called and asked. They say up to 35psi is OK but gives a little more harsh ride. They indicated that 33-34psi gives better tire wear and gas milage than the lower pressures listed in the manual.
