Default LX 570 with Winch/ Bullbar, Kaymen Rear Bar anyone?

Hi there

I`m from Switzerland, and bought a Toyota Landcruiser 200 V8 VIP 4.5 D4D 2011 Modell, with AHC & AVS and Crawl.

In most of the world, they sold as LX570, when they come with AHC and AVS - only in Europe they lable it as Toyota. It is a Toyota, not a Lexus, but has components who are in the Lexus in most areas.

This issue is also discussed here in this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lx5...ability-3.html

I want to build a overland rig out of my LC 200, and want to ask here, if someone of you has modified his car, and have experiences with that.

My Whislist:

180l additional fueltank
Snorkel, cyclon Filter
Front / Rear ARB Lockers
ARB Deluxe Frontbar
Wind Warn XP9500
Kaymen Rearbar with twin tyre holder
Cooper STT 285 / 70 / 17

My Toyota specialist has recommended, that i get the AHC Setup of the armored Version of the LX570/TLC 200 - who should give me same feeling than the original setup, but could handle up to 5to of wight.

I love the LC 200 also in stock setup for offroading! But i will cross africa mostly as single car, and need some additional security features, to pull me out of mud..

Here a pic of me and my babies

So now the LC200 can get "crawl" on a diesel version? I thought they could not do it...

As for the mods, you should spend some time on this forum:
http://forum.ih8mud.com/200-series-c...thread-20.html

The 180 liter auxiliary tank is common in Australia. Not sure where you would get it in Europe.

We get 93 liter :-( Thats less for the drive at the german highway with 220 km/h with 21l / 100km... (Pic of a GPS-Tracker applied)

I`m active there, also @ lcool & expeditionportal - but the mainproblem is, that they all don`t have AHC and AVS - and could not give much feedback on this issue.

I hoped to meet here expericenced people in case of AHC and much load weight

Ahhh... got it.

Seems like an exciting trip in Africa. I hope you will post some pictures of the trip on one of the forums.

Did you purposely choose the AHC over the KDSS, or did you not have a choice?

Regulary we had`nt the choice. But everyone is able to import a car, from somewhere where it gives the setup of choice.

Mostly you could save money too, doing this way.

So i had the opportunity to choose. But i prefere AHC for the additional comfort (driving 150 km/h on dirttracks is very comfortable (Assuming the 15km/h badroads from Africa are so more comfortable too)), and the additional hight.

I have found the solution of the AHC Setup from the armored LC 200 bevore buying, and know this way - that i can realice my dreams with AHC.

How capable the armored AHC Version is - seems no one to know...

Do you have any information on how you resolved the AHC + higher loading? Sources or links please. Thanks

working on a winch set up also but I want to keep my front bumper stock; not sure if you are going with an after market front bumper. Here are some parts list; in the middle east you can get a factory winch but not for us in the USA. Maybe you will have better luck with europe? Keep us posted with the upgrade of the armor AHC.

Hello Surfy, I had an ARB bull bar with Warn 9.5 winch and rear ARB bumper installed about 2 years ago on my 2011 LX 570. Check out the ARB website

In the meantime our trip through africa is finished, we are planning on the next trip

Funny to see here one of me first threads about my modding-wishlist again. Just the rear bar was not possible to equip, because of the AHC Pump.

The big rest is done - and did a good job!

I did use beefed up AHC dampers and the violet springs from the armored Land Cruiser 200vehicles. They are rated to 5.1to.. Our travel weight was arround 3.8to depending on how much fuel and water we carried.
Because the V8 engine is damn heavy, we end near 50:50 weight ratio which was perfect to drive quick on bad roads.

Here is our Blog http://transafrica2012.blogspot.com with much pictures and a daily diary.

It was my first blog and a pleasure to write - therefore i`m still active, trying to write about overlanding, gear and stuff who belongs to the theme - under http://www.4x4tripping.com

It is Kaymen Rearbar with tyre holder.. You can setup two of them.

Keep in mind - that you had to open the rear tyreholder each time, you want to open the back door.

That is very easy, but depending on your habbits and daily use - it could get a pain..
