Rear hatch power tailgate auto raise does not work when using handle button
I have a new to me 2017 LX. The rear hatch will open automatically when the key fob is used and when the interior button (next to the steering wheel) is used. It will not raise on its own when the 'handle button' on the rear hatch is used. It will pop the lock open but you must raise it by hand. This is not the same as my wife's 2015 RX. I had the dealership check for settings in the ECU but they said they couldn't find anything related specifically to that setting. Is that how this truck was designed or am I missing something? The owner's manual doesn't offer much help other than the button that is used to lock out the power tailgate all together, which is set to the out position. Thanks!
i will have to go check, but i believe mine does raise.
first there is an ON/OFF switch near the drivers knee, make sure it is on.
2nd, if you are pushing the button on the hatchback to raise it, and nothing happens, i found that i have too manually unlock the doors first. It does not "sense" that i have the key fob in my pocket at least half of the time

Seems that the hatches that do not include a height adjustment had the manual lift to permit a way to
open the back door without bumping into closed garage doors or overhead obstacles. Earlier RX's than
Berdman's brides 2015 also lacked the power actuator when the license plate pocket button was pressed.

Read through this old thread. Model years through 2017 DO NOT have power operation from the exterior liftgate rubberized button.
This is a feature that was added to the LX 570 starting with model year 2018 through the last year of production. If you own a 2017 or earlier LX570 you do not have this feature.
