Default Smart Access Lock not working

Driver door Handle (small part where key blade goes into) was literally broken so the door couldn't be unlocked manually with the key blade. While waiting for the part, the main door handle (long handle) was disconnected and removed pending arrival of the lock mechanism. Nothing else was touched.

Upon arrival of the part, everything was put back together and the key blade now unlocks the door but I find the smart lock is not working properly as it should.
I am able to unlock the car with the Smart unlock and it works as it should. I simply by put my hand through the handle and the doors unlock. But when the dimple on any of the doors is touched, the doors don't lock. I have to lock it with the remote fob. No matter how long i place my finger on the dimple in the handle it won't lock. This is same for all 4 doors. I can only lock it with the remote fob. The lock/unlock button works from inside.

I tried to reset the whole system this morning by temporarily disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes and lo and behold after reconnecting the battery it started to work fine. I go to the dentist office and drive back and it reverted back to not working.

Am wondering if there is a reset button for the smart lock. Maybe the system needs to be reset since the door handle was unplugged.

Anyone face a similar issue? Its driving me nuts.

There is a someone in the RX forum with exact same issue but there doesn't seem to be a post with a solution.

I am not sure.... but does replacing the door handle requires a 'relearn'? Techstream should show all procedures.

The problem occurred when the truck was powered up w/ the outer door handle "dimple" unplugged. A code was probably set which is not allowing proper function. Disconnecting the battery does not always clear computer codes.
The other possibility is the electrical connection to the "Dimple" switch is not 100%. I'd pull it back apart & retrace your steps.
