Hello,

I’m sure that there is a lot of cross shopping between landcruisers and LX570. I noticed a difference in the spec sheet which to me is a HUGE difference but I haven’t seen anyone talking about it.

The LX570 is listed as having all speed radar cruise - so it can stop and start.




the Landcruiser shows that it only has standard radar cruise without all speed.




Can anyone confirm this? It seems odd because a majority of the systems are exactly the same between these two vehicles. Did Lexus give the LX570 a better safety computer in the 2016 refresh? Did Toyota not also do this? Seems odd. I wonder if someone could help look at the part numbers for the two computers.

This is accurate. I've owned both trucks and the Lexus is superior. One of the few ways these vehicles are different (other than the interior fit/finish/design)

 

Yes, I can confirm this. One of the main reasons why I purchased LX not Land Cruiser. I've heard that the reason is that cars with stop and go adaptive cruise control need to have an electronic parking brake (but I am not sure if this is true).

I guess I am still confused as to how lexus was able to do all speed while not doing it on the land cruiser. In my review of parts the radar sensor and computer are the same. You would assume they would have the same capabilities - unless it was software limited in the land cruiser in order to differentiate it from the LX570.

One would wonder if there is a simple “upgrade” to the landcruiser that would allow it to do all speed radar cruise.
