Heck yeah! Been looking all over to see if someone had done this in the US. When you get an opportunity if you would walk us through the parts and the process that would be very helpful.

Before I begin, a word of caution. If you injure yourself or others because you were trying to follow this project, I not responsible for all your mess and mistake. follow this at your own risk....

Tools that I used to cut the lights open

cut this plastic glue to separate the light with the side cover and remove 2 screws

Make your cut line

Start your cut, b patient do nicely

remove this screw

and this

dont lost your rubber washer

start pry open the back cover, do slowly and firm, dont force it, some spot need deeper cut

peel back the weather strip

push down the rubber.

I continue Later for the outer light

Good to see someone can done this alternatively. I took the easy route by replacing with oversea spec tail lights with few additional wires to achieve the OEM result. Here is what I have done in another thread:

1st of all, watch your LED orientation, make sure is matched with these pictures

these what I used to make connections and parts

join all the positive side of the LEDs together..

solder LED drivers, the positive toward the positive side of LED

add cable for power (about 6"-8").....and put all the board a side....we work on the outer light now.

Remove this screw and lift the board

remove this screw

and this

remove the tape

cut the pink and blue wire

one higher then the other

Heat shrink together

Pull the turn signal back, nicely...at this point you better wear latex glove...you dont want finger print all over you taillight.

remove all blue and yellow tape

remove this connector (carefully)

and this..

and this..

remove those 2 screws

and you can remove the back cover.

pull out all those LEDs board...

now you have to cut some of copper line...scrape some of the paint..

add some LED driver (pay attention to the polarity)

solder this way

After done all three, you can put the board back to where is belong and also put back the back cover and screws

put back all the connector and cut this wire

and this

joint the pink withe grey cable

and heat shrink, now do same with the back cable

and heat shrink...

extend all the wire (red, black, grey and blue)

Been busy with work...Let continue....

I drilled the rubber gasket to take out the 4 cable

Used JST connector to make it neat

I used Ghozt Lightning for the sequential turn, just google "Ghozt Lightning"....need to tested before closing the taillights...from Ghozt lightning module, use ch1 for the inner LED (the closest one to the "L" logo, and ch19 for the outer led.

adjust power supply to 12V....you should see the leds sequential...if everything work good, we can start closing.....

This what I used to close the taillights back....

Put back all the screws and make sure the cut off align,, used clamps to help line up

after that I used Black silicon to make it water tight....

the rest of the light it's pretty much the same process.....Good luck guys.. if you have any questions just DM me..

Thanks for the info and pictures, you saved me lots of research hours on my project, I bought an extra set of inner tail lights to play around and see what was missing. I also planned on using the Ghozt module to control the sequential leds and brake lights.

When I get home I'll review the pictures and your info.
I have questions for you and I hope you can help me.
