Default 2017 lx 570

Hi,

I am about to purchase, or should I say I am thinking about purchasing a used 2017 LX 570 with 10,650 miles on it. The local Lexus dealer let me use it for 2 days. I thought that was very nice of them. I was able to put it thru it's paces, considering it was a " test drive". I did everything with it from city driving to hiway driveway to even some off roading. I even took it with me to do some rifle shooting, getting ready for hunting season. Overall I averaged 15.5 mpg, would have been higher if not for the mild off roading I did. The LX is black with caberneit red interior, great combo. The LX is basically loaded with the luxury package and a original MSRP of $ 99,800.00 in 2017. I was very impressed when I took it off roading and shooting. I found the LX to be very enjoyable to drive and I thought it handled quite well ! I love the size for a full size SUV, I feel like a lot of the full size luxury SUV'S are getting to long today. As far as the weight effecting the driving dynamics, I did not feel it, I thought it was very agile, so I do not agree with a lot of the reviews out there on the LX and how it gets rated so low.

The dealership is currently asking $ 76,000.00. From what research I have done, it seems about the asking price for a 2017 with 11,000 miles. I would be trading in a 2017 ford raptor, which they are giving me $ 58,000.00 for as a trade allowance. I know you guys think I'm crazy, trading in a ford raptor for a LX 570, but I really liked the feel, size, and driving dynamics better of the LX. And I will tell you this, it's not as fast as the raptor, but it handled the off roading just as good, I might dare say better. Which I think is amazing for a full size luxury SUV.

This is a very tough decision ! I love the raptor ! But I think I like the LX 570 better. Just curious what current LX owners think of the price they are offering me. Is it good or fair ? If I do buy the LX 570 what kind of dedicated winter tires are there for the LX 570, even if I have to go down to a 20 or 18 inch tire. I currently have a Lexus GSF 2016, which I love ! this is a very tough decision !

Any help would be appreciated !

I've had a number of days seat time in a Raptor.
I've also had years in the LX...
(just got a new one the other day....

Two different beasts - came close to pulling the trigger on a raptor a while back.

The quality / dealer experience - no one can beat LEXUS.

For a delta of $18,000 - Great job!

You didn't mention if the 2017 is L Certified - if so - total no brainer.
If not L Certified - regular no brainer.

The Cabernet interior is fantastic ;-)

thank you for the reply. I am very fortunate to be able to speak to someone who has experience with both because you are right they are two different beasts, that usually attract different people.

the LX 570 they quoted me on is L certified. I have to tell you that the LX 570 just caught me completely off guard. I honestly do not believe almost all the auto reviews that are done on the LX 570. What really blew me away was the driving dynamics. The Raptor is faster, but the LX 570 does everything so well !

Thanks! We love it.

Totally agree - You read the road tests the new Navigator vs Escalade vs Range Rover (OMG don't get me started on my ownership experience!!) vs Infiniti QX, etc.

Yes. 0-60 it's in last place.
Yes. running around a track it'll have the slowest time.
Yes. rated at 7,000 towing it's near the bottom

But the fit and finish of the interior - exterior - total ownership experience - and piece of mind knowing I can go ANYWHERE if need be in a beast that'll go 250,000 miles in a heart beat....
It is an amazing SUV - yeah old - but I think Best in Class.

Your GX must feel like a bucking Bronc now ;-)

Back in 2015 my Michelle really really wanted a Range Rover...we sat drove in the luxo one for north od $110,00.
When see played with the switch gear, *****, touched the interior finishes (I could see her smile melt away why she tried to open the cover for the cup holders in the center console - it was rough and stopped half way...) - it just didn't compare.

Beware! Once you own an LX for a while it will be hard to drive any other luxury SUV. It's all about luxury. High quality materials, fit and finish, serene ride regardless whether you are off-roading, driving through a blizzard or just cruising in traffic. The Lexus owner experience and reliability are second to none. Welcome to the LX family and happy driving.
