Chromecast work in 2008 LX570?
Hello,
I have a 2008 with the rear entertainment system. The car has rca inputs and am wondering if I can add a Chromecast and stream video by using a simple HDMI to RCA converter (like this: https://www.radioshack.com/products/...XYYaAt_s8P8HAQ). Anyone done this before? Thanks. |
Interesting idea! Suspect if it does work that it'll be very fuzzy picture going in through a composite video feed.
Do you have a USB power source and wifi source in mind as well? Streaming could pull down a lot of data via a cell hotspot. Alternative might be to load a bunch of movies on a memory stick or SD card and use a small player locally (assuming the rear seat entertainment doesn't already have a USB input you could use natively). Same challenge with power for it. Didn't do a lot of searching, but something like this |

I do this all the time on mine. I cast my phone screen to the chromecast so everything I watch on the phone I also see on the screens. I created a tread on IH8MUD about how I did it.
