Default Looking to purchase 2010-2011 LX570

We have a 2009 GX470 with no problems. It runs great with 125K miles.

The only thing we would like is more room in the back for camping. Wondering how much bigger/more space the back of the LX570,

Who here has upgraded from the GX to the LX that can give me their opinion/feedback going from one to the other.
Thanks!

We traded in our '08 GX on an '09 LX. The LX definitely has more interior room and the back cargo area is larger. Some people complain that the 3rd row seats aren't easily removed from the LX, but the way they fold up creates plenty of space for what we need to put back there (strollers, luggage etc).

The 2nd row seating also moves back to give more leg room for passengers - something the GX does not have. Overall we are happy with the upgrade.

Some people don't have a spare 15 minutes and / or cannot figure out how a ratchet wrench functions.

Thanks for the replies guys.

We are only thinking of the 2010-2011 primarily because of going totally bluetooth with audio streaming and USB ports.

Even though all the 2013 and newer ones are really nice, the Mrs. and I don't care too much for the bowtie grill design at this time. I guess we are stuck in the past.

Anything to look out for any hidden issues when looking for one?

We had an 06 GX for 6 1/2 years and now have a 2010 and 2013 LX. We upgraded for many reasons (tech, safety, etc) but cargo room wasn't one of them. It's been 5 years since we gave the GX to my brother but my recollection says that the GX with seats removed has pretty much the same amount of cargo room as the LX. Interior seating for the front 5 is roomier in the LX since it's wider, but it doesn't translate into more cargo room because of the non-removable seats. I could be wrong but I'd take a measuring tape to your GX and to the first LX570 you can find (the cargo dimensions haven't changed since the 2008 introduction) before you move too far down the road.

No need to find an LX. I just looked it up. Cargo room behind the second row is 41 cu feet in the LX and 50 in a GX470 with seats removed.

Or maybe they just don't think a career change to become an automotive technician is a necessity when you buy the top of the line vehicle from a premium brand? I personally don't want to be wrenching on my car and if I did I would have bought a dodge. This isn't a Subaru you know.

Haha... it's 2 plastic covers, 2 connectors, and 8 bolts. Anyone can do it.

You guys are funny.

Thankfully I still have all my tools when I used to wrench on motorcycles.

But the biggest problem is finding a LX locally to go check out unless I go to the dealer for a new one.

I had to set my search radius to 200 miles on Autotrader to find my LX. Local ones were few and far between, and the few that I did see that looked nice had sold before I could go see them. Ended up driving from Illinois to Iowa to get mine! Good luck in your search.

Also, I checked out the brochures for both the LX and the GX and found that the LX has almost 6 cubic feet more cargo space than the GX. 77.5 for the GX and 83.1 for the LX.

That's accurate in terms of space behind the front seats. Behind the 2nd row it's 50 versus 41 in favor of the GX.
