Default Sunroof

Hi all,

I have a weired situation, when I open the sunroof then try to close it, it slides to the middle then opens again. After four trials the sunroof switches to manual then I close it manually.

Has any one gone through a similar situation before and how it was fixed.

Thanks,

Sounds like the roof "thinks" there is an obstruction.

Ok, the problem was fixed but I had to go back to Toyota TIS to help me fix it. It turns out that the sunroof or the sliding roof needs to be re-initialized. All you need to do is follow the steps below to perform the initialization:

1. Get into the car and close the door. Without depressing the brake, press the car switch on button twice.
2. Press the sliding roof "close" button and hold for 10 seconds.
3. Open the sliding roof slightly and stop.
4. Now press and hold the close button. The sliding roof will perform the following:
A. Close
B. Open completely
C. Close completely
D. Tilt
E. Close
F. Open completely
G. Close completely

Keep on holding on close button 1second after all these activities are performed

5. Now press and hold on "UP" button.
The sliding roof will perform the following:
A. Tilt up
B. Close
C. Open completely
D. Close

Now, test the sliding roof.
