Just Installed Apple Play
I just put the deluxe Hamilton Motor Company Apple Play kit into my 2021 LX570 with the improved monitor. Oh what a difference! Orders of magnitude better! The job took me all day, and you must both follow the installation video very carefully plus check all the connections in the provided wiring diagram. Hamilton uses a master harness plus another secondary harness just for the LX570, so you have to connect some of the wires from the prinary to the secondary harness. The video is very helpful and they have live support 24/7 by phone which is expert. It cost $1,200 plus but to me is well worth it. Can't believe that Lexus didn't provide Apple Car play on the late LX570s. Mine was manufactured in August 2021 so must other cars already had this. Anyway, mine now has it too and it is absolutely fantastic! It is very doable for the average DIYer...
the pre-owned LX 570 I bought last year already came with Beat Sonic CarPlay. I didn't know it until last week since no one had told me even the salesman didn't know. but I only used it for one day. the google map cannot compare with the navigation that came with LX. It's neither a must-have nor a great option. the car already came with what Car Play can practically do inside a car like making a phone call or navigating to a location.
I also installed the hamilton unit in my 2017 LX and removed beat sonic.
I did install and beat remove myself. I went slow and it took 4-5hrs. The youtube video is terrific and easy to follow. The unit is amazing and screen quality (4k) is a huge upgrade and crystal clear vs grainy stock (480p) with Beat. I have been using it for 4-5 months with zero issues.
If you are a Verizon wireless customer… just fyi the unit currently will not accept sim from Verizon.

I am looking into this updgrade. I am fairly certain my HDD is failed as I have the "Cannot read program consult dealer" message. Does anyone know if you still have to replace original HDD drive when installing one of these new units with Carplay?
You don’t touch HDD with this install. It’s purely a screen swap.
