Hi all, My 2005 LX470 2 position memory seat switch isn't working. The three button switch is located on the drivers side door. I'd like to get it working. Two questions:
1. Any known issues, bugs, etc?
2. Can the switch be replaced WITHOUT removing the door panel?

No known issues, other than 12 years of usage.

You can remove the switch with nothing more than a thin, rounded strip of metal...I used a feeler gauge thin enough and stiff enough to release the front plastic latch for the switch. You want to insert whatever tool between the very front of the switch and the armrest. As you push in, push down a little and you'll catch the latch. Continue pushing until you can lift the front of the switch up, move the switch forward, and it should come out. Difficult to describe but easy once you do it the first time.

I'm assuming that the individual door switches all work ok...if not, that's probably a power issue and needs to be addressed. If you need more info, post back and hth.

Hi and thank you for your reply. I should've included a pic initially. Now added. I'm a bit confueesd by comment: "the switch and the armrest.". Are we talking about the same switch? thanks!

Duh...I was writing about the window switch...stupid. My apologies.

Same thing, same tool on the memory settings switch.

We were not...my fault.

Following is per the FSM on the Seat Memory Switch.

"Using a screwdriver, remove the Seat Memory Switch.
"HINT: Tape the screwdriver before use."

That's all. It is not necessary to pull the door panel, as removing the memory switch is at the beginning of that task. If you want to use a screwdriver, start out small. I'd guess there are 2 plastic latches holding it in place, but not sure if top or bottom of switch. If you think you'll do more diy stuff on your truck, a set or 2 of plastic panel removal tools will be invaluable. A regular dinner knife might also work.

Thanks Steve. I was able to remove the switch without taking off the door panel, BIG thanks. Unfortunately, the simple memory switch ohmed fine. So not sure what the issue is...? But to perhaps help out others in the future, I've attached some pics. thanks, andy.

Resolved! There are two connectors for the memory switch, 1 behind the door panel of the memory switch (see ablove)and the other about half way down the door panel that connects the memory switch cable to the wiring harness. I was able to see/resolve the prblem by removing the window switch assembly. So, my mehanic was last to remove the panel and forgot this one connector point.

lymlyt...glad you found the problem and fixed it.

After more than a few years in diagnosing and repairing aircraft electrical systems, the old adage about checking interconnections first normally holds true...not so much the black boxes, but the wires and connectors that link them.

I have a 2004 Lexus LX 470. Recently my wife drove the car, and now the memory does not work. Worse than that every time I get in the car or out of the car it readjusts to her settings and I have to move the seat all the way back. It also does it when driving at times. So annoying. Please help
I have not looked at the fuses, or the battery
