Default Light Upgrades

Back in February, a good friend of ours bought an LX470 after hounding him about using his VIP style Infiniti M45 or supercharged Honda Civic every winter to hit up the mountains to go snowboarding. First thing we did was install HIDs to his rig to brighten up the stock output a bit. After having his truck for almost a year now, and getting all the kinks straightened out on his 17 year old beast, it was almost time to drive it up the mountains again. But this time, he was planning on taking a trip to the northern states to make way to crossover to Canada, and the HID upgrades was just not enough lighting.

The rig was pretty stock, but in overall great shape, with just little under 150k on the ODO.

The LX470 low beam projectors are very similar to the Acura TSX projectors, which are highly sought after in the projector retrofit world. So we did our Projector Lens Upgrade with Tuning service on it, to achieve a crisp and much brighter and focused light output. The fog lights on the other hand was a bit odd on measurements and doesn't really exist in any standard measurement of fog lights. We made some custom brackets to house a Morimoto Matchbox H1 to do a Projector Retrofit for it to also achieve the same results for the fog lights. We also gave the fog lights our Permanent Restoration service, as the lens was badly pitted from all the road debris it has experienced throughout its life, and installed protective film on all lighting parts which comes standard with our service for optimum performance and no more yellowing. Pristine looking headlights truly make a day and night difference to how any car look.

The whole assembly looks stock, but packs a really big punch for late night backroad drives. Here is the low beams before and after the Projector Lens Upgrade!

And the fog lights with the Projector Retrofit.

When this rig gets back to Fresno where it belongs, a set of SCS wheels are waiting to be mated with the brand new 285/75/16 BF Goodrich All Terrain tires it just got!

Before the rig gets back to Fresno, I'd dump the fogs for something with a lower temperature...bright white light in fog goes into the driver's face...yellow tends to do a much better job lighting the road in fog.

Those are actually 4500k, same color temp as halogen bulbs. Perfect for any weather and not eye straining as higher temps.
