Hello,

I just bought a 99 LX470. I noticed that when the truck is idling or stops in gear at stop sign, the oil pressure level goes down close to the bottom mark. There is no check engine light. When I start driving, the oil pressure level goes to close to the middle mark. Is this change in oil pressure normal ?

Yes it's normal. The oil pump spins faster when your engine revs up.

I am not sure. I just got it from a private person. I am going to flush engine oil today. What oil do you use ?

Mobil 1 Extended Mileage. I stock up when walmart has it on sale. 5-30W for winter, 10W-40 for summer. She gets the oil changed in the fall and spring.

Would Full Synthetic 5W-40 works for Summer ? I asked the shop thats what they put in.
