Default 2005 LX470 Engine starts then stops 2-3 sec

Sharing recent failure in hopes it helps others in the future. After driving for over an hour, no issues at all, stopped and shut off engine for 5 mins. Engine would then turn over but would die after 2-3 seconds. This was very consistent. I incorrectly "assumed" it may be related to the immobilizer system; thus, had it towed to a Lexus dealer. (Fyi, "assumption" was based on other car brand systems in which the engine would start, immobilizer would kick in, and then shut the engine off if there was a "problem" . With the LX470, the immobilizer will not allow the engine to start if there is a problem.) Initially Lexus service was unable to find anything obviously wrong. No codes, no engine light, nothing. Everything looked "OK". The culprit turned out to be a bad "crank sensor". Best educated guess by the tech. Again, hopefully this will help others save time and money should you have a similar situation.
